WifiInfoView is a free and simple tool which displays extensive information about the wireless networks around you.
As a portable application, WifiInfoView does not require installation and may be executed from virtually any location.
The interface of the program is divided in to two panels; The first panel includes a list of WiFi networks that are available and the section panel displays vital information about the network like SSID, Element ID and the support rates the router supports.
The top panel of WifiInfoView provides a list that includes important details about the wireless access point like the SSID, signal strength, RSSI, average signal quality, manufacturer, router model, encryption type, etc.
Other details available by WifiInfoView for the more advanced user can also be viewed like the router MAC address, signal frequency, information size and channel.
All in all, WifiInfoView is a very useful portable utility that collects and displays vital information about local wireless WiFi networks
Features of WifiInfoView
- Channel: Channel number used by this wireless network.
- Company: The company that manufactured the router, according to the 3 first bytes of the MAC address.
- Elements Count: The total number of Wi-Fi information elements received from this wireless network.
- First Detection: The first date/time that this network was detected.
- Frequency: The channel center frequency of the band on which the 802.11 Beacon or Probe Response frame was received.
- Information Size:The total size (in bytes) of all Wi-Fi information elements received from this wireless network.
- MAC Address: MAC address of the router.
- Maximum Speed: The maximum speed (in Mbps) that you can get when connecting to this wireless network.
- PHY Type: The PHY type for this network - 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n, or High-Rate DSSS.
- RSSI: The received signal strength indicator value, in units of decibels referenced to 1.0 milliwatts (dBm), as detected by the wireless LAN interface driver for the AP or peer station.
- Router Model: The model of the router. This value is displayed only for routers that provide this information inside the Wi-Fi information elements.
- Router Name: The name of the router. This value is displayed only for routers that provide this information inside the Wi-Fi information elements.
- SSID: The name of the network.
- Security: Specifies whether the network is secured (Yes/No).
- Signal Quality: A number between 0 and 100 that represents the quality of the signal.

WifiInfoView is provided under a freeware license on Windows from WiFi software with no restrictions on usage. Download and installation of this PC software is free and 2.93 is the latest version last time we checked.

What version of Windows can WifiInfoView run on?
WifiInfoView can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
